Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) – Advanced Cursor AI Experience

About this job:

The technology stack may vary depending on the client request, so please do not limit the search to one specific stack. We need robust polyglot engineers who can quickly understand unfamiliar codebases and become productive in a short time.

We are looking for experienced Forward Deployed Engineers with strong software engineering backgrounds and advanced hands‑on experience using Cursor in real commercial projects.

This role is stack‑agnostic. Client requests may involve Java, .NET, Python, TypeScript, cloud platforms, legacy systems, monoliths, microservices, or modern product engineering environments. The key requirement is the ability to quickly understand an unfamiliar codebase and become productive within a short time.

The ideal candidate is not just a developer who has tried Cursor. We are looking for someone who actively uses Cursor as part of a professional engineering workflow: codebase analysis, multi‑file refactoring, test generation, debugging, documentation, PR preparation, and agent‑driven implementation.

What makes you a great fit:

• 10+ years of commercial software engineering experience;


• Strong engineering background across multiple technology stacks;


• Proven ability to work with unfamiliar codebases;


• Advanced hands‑on Cursor experience in real projects;


• Experience with agentic AI‑assisted development workflows;


• Strong understanding of architecture, code quality, testing, CI/CD, and secure development;


• Ability to work independently in client‑facing consulting or POC environments;


• Freelance or contract availability on short notice.

You are a star if you have:

• Experience with Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, Aider, Windsurf, Devin, Replit Agent, or similar tools;


• Previous experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solution Architect, Principal Engineer, or Technical Lead;


• Experience with enterprise modernization, POCs, accelerators, or AI transformation projects;


• Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP;


• Experience mentoring teams or creating AI‑assisted engineering best practices.
