Job DescriptionThe Claims Adjuster – Automobile is responsible for serving members through the investigation and settlement of minor to moderate automobile claims. This includes establishing relationships with insured members, detailed investigation of coverage, liability and quantum, ensuring compliance with fiduciary, regulatory, and contractual requirements, and adhering to organization service standards, operational targets, and core competencies. Reporting to the National Auto Claims Manager.ResponsibilitiesDeliver a superior customer experience by responding to inquiries, initiating and maintaining contact with insured members, and assisting with commodity claims overflow.Confirm coverage for incoming claims by reviewing facts, obtaining technical reports, completing coverage analysis, assessing quantum, reviewing subrogation opportunities, negotiating and resolving automobile insurance claims in a timely manner.Coordinate, direct and follow up on work activities performed by outside service providers.Complete correspondence efficiently, including creation of Critical Path, Proof of Loss, waivers, and reservation rights letters.Gather information from insured members, authorities, police, witnesses, and other insurers for a timely investigation of motor vehicle accidents.Maintain quality service and adhere to organizational standards for file handling, reserving, expense and loss control, questionable claims, and disposition plans for closure.Assist and participate in dispute forums related to policy coverage, providing documentation and resolution recommendations.Maintain claims confidentiality.Ensure data integrity, issue payments to vendors, insureds, and experts, and keep a well‑organized claim file with accurate data input.Adhere to partner guidelines,



contracts, and insurance regulations for compliance.Participate in coaching and training sessions and collaborate with team members and management.Contribute to continuous improvement of work efficiencies and highlight value work.Perform other duties within competence as assigned.QualificationsA post‑secondary education and/or college diploma in a related field.CIP designation or working toward the designation.Provincial adjusters license as required; ability to acquire the license.2+ years’ experience with a solid understanding of automobile policy.Ability to communicate in French is an asset.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work with internal and external stakeholders.Strong time‑management and organizational skills to manage competing priorities.Current Microsoft Office knowledge.Ability to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced environment, working with various computer programs, databases, and software.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team workplace.Salary and BenefitsSalary range: $57,669 to $79,295, along with rewarding bonuses that recognize dedication.Benefits include: defined benefit pension plan, 100% coverage of approved continuing education and licensing fees, access to LinkedIn Learning, flexible work‑from‑home and hybrid options, and opportunities for advancement.Equal Opportunity EmployerOTIP and its group of companies strive to create an accessible and inclusive work environment where everyone is treated with respect and dignity.
