Reporting to the Area Superintendent, the School Psychologist works collaboratively with the Student Services and Wellness support team, school principal, staff, parents/guardians, clinicians and outside agencies. Supports Nursery to Grade 12 students including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, consultation and recommendations.

Qualifications

- Master's Degree in School Psychology
- Valid Manitoba School Psychologist Certificate (or eligibility for)
- Successful completion of formal training in psycho-educational assessments
- Strong clinical skills in child and adolescent development, cognitive processes,



mental health, learning and behaviour disorders
- Experience working with students with a broad range of exceptional needs
- Commitment to working with Indigenous and First Nation communities using culturally affirming practices
- Training in Threat Assessment (VTRA), ASIST, Trauma-Informed Practices, and Cultural Safety is an asset
- Valid Manitoba Driver's license

Duties And Responsibilities

- Conduct and interpret psychoeducational assessments related to learning, social-emotional and/or behavioural challenges
- Work collaboratively with school support teams and parents/guardians
- Participate in School Support Team meetings
- Prepare and submit written reports
- Liaise with outside agencies
- Provide qualified learning for school staff and parents
- Support school communities related to threat assessment, crisis response and trauma-informed care

Successful candidates may be eligible for the Rural and Northern Clinician bursary of up to $15,000.
