Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and proactive Customs Compliance Manager to oversee our dual-country customs clearance operations (Canadian CBSA and US CBP). In this role, you will lead operational teams, onboard recent accounts, protect clients from regulatory penalties, and drive continuous improvement across team processes and financial performance. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients while maintaining operational excellence ensuring daily operations run without delays, errors, or AMPS (Administrative Monetary Penalty System) penalties. Key Responsibilities 1. Team Leadership, Training & Operations Supervise & Coordinate: Lead, mentor, and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Canadian and US customs operational teams. Capacity & Performance: Ensure smooth operational flow without clearance delays, managing workloads and productivity across both cross-border sectors. Training: Develop and execute ongoing training programs for staff regarding changing customs regulations, SIMA duties, classification,



and software entry processes. CADEX Oversight: Monitor and ensure timely transmission of CADEX files (specifically tracking Day 4 and Day 5 entries) to avoid CBSA late-filing sanctions. 2. Compliance, Risk Management & Client Protection CBSA & CBP Compliance: Maintain high accuracy in tariff classification, valuation, origin determination, and tax applications. Penalty Prevention: Guard against AMPS penalties through strict quality control, internal audits, and entry accuracy checks. SIMA & Surtaxes: Verify correct application of SIMA (Special Import Measures Act) duties and applicable surtaxes/countervailing duties to protect importers from unexpected fines or retroactive adjustments.
