Rimbey Long Term Care is an 84 bed unit located in a rural setting where Licensed Practical Nurse work under the supervision of Registered Nurses within an interdisciplinary team environment to provide client and family centered care. This environment is suitable for candidates who have a strong interest and skills in providing care to the elderly client, including those diagnosed with Alzheimer Disease or other dementias.Rimbey enjoys the best of all worlds by maintaining its small town friendly lifestyle and still has access to three major cities: Red Deer, Calgary and Edmonton, about 2 - 3 hours from town. The community is nestled in the scenic Blindman River Valley amongst the rolling hills which border the Rocky Mountains.Description:As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. Outstanding interpersonal communication skills, Charge Nurse experience, experience in conflict management and Nonviolent crisis intervention, ability to multitask and be a critical thinker in stressful and challenging situations. Must have moderate computer skills. Dementia care and management.Preferred Qualifications:Connect Care education would be an asset. Specifically, Continuing Care Facility Living Nurse and Care Planning Badge, BLS.Security Screening:A satisfactory criminal record check and/or Vulnerable Sector Search is required prior to your first day of work.
