Lead FinOps Specialist
About the Role
This role is focused on helping optimize cloud investment across a global multi-cloud environment spanning AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will work at the intersection of cloud operations, finance, and leadership to improve forecasting, strengthen governance, and support better decision-making. The position exists to increase the business value of cloud spend by reducing waste, improving visibility, and building stronger financial controls. You will partner closely with Development, Finance, FP&A;, Procurement, Engineering, Product, and leadership teams. The role is designed for someone who can combine FinOps expertise with strategic influence. Success in this position means turning cloud financial management into a measurable advantage for the business. Key Responsibilities
Lead cloud cost optimization initiatives across the organization Drive rightsizing, storage optimization, and commitment-based savings strategies Build cloud spend forecasts and variance analyses Partner with FP&A; to align cloud spend with financial plans Implement cost anomaly detection, controls, and alerts Design and operationalize showback and chargeback models Establish and enforce tagging standards and governance Define policies, guardrails, and KPI-based FinOps processes Promote cost-aware practices across engineering and product teams Deliver dashboards, KPIs, and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders Required Skills
8–12+ years of FinOps experience for Senior level, or 12–15+ years for Principal level Hands-on cloud financial management experience across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP Ability to influence Engineering, Finance, and Procurement stakeholders Strong knowledge of cloud billing constructs and optimization levers Experience with forecasting, budgeting,
and financial modeling Experience using cloud cost management platforms Advanced Excel, SQL, and/or BI tool skills Ability to translate cloud consumption into business insights for executive audiences Proven change leadership and process adoption experience Strategic thinking and the ability to shape FinOps maturity Cloud Platforms & Technologies
