OverviewEmployment Type:Full-time (Permanent)Department:Employment and Settlement ServicesUnion:Included (CUPE Local 2497)Salary:$29 per hour (Level 3)File #:26-ESS-01 (1 OPEN)Posting Date:January 21, 2026Posting Close:February 10, 2026Reason for vacancy:ReplacementThe Job Developer will be required to work Monday - Friday: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.Position SummaryReporting to the Manager, Strategic Engagement and Partnership, the Job Developer works closely with clients to provide services such as job search support, job matching, placement, and retention strategies. The role also includes organizing job fairs, workshops, and employer events while maintaining regular contact with clients and monitoring their employment outcomes for up to 12 months.The Job Developer is required to perform their duties in a manner consistent with Dixon Hall’s Mission, Vision, and Values and to contribute to a safe and supportive environment for all participants and staff in the department.Duties and ResponsibilitiesIntake and oversee a caseload of job ready clients, providing ongoing support and coaching throughout their career development and employment journeyConduct common assessment tools and develop new workshops and training based on those assessments and various program requirementsDevelop service plans tailored to each client’s needs, helping them progress through the required stages of the planPerform efficiently to meet Key Performance Indicators established by management in alignment with Service System Managers’ (SSM) IES frameworkAdminister and negotiate Employer Related Financial Support (ERFS) with employers, maintain proper records, and monitor complianceIdentify and coordinate specialized Employment Services—such as job search support, job matching, placement, incentives, or job/training retention—by working closely with the client to determine the most suitable optionsFollow up with clients once employed to monitor job retention for 12 months after employment, providing ongoing support to ensure successful employment outcomesMonitor and provide hands on support to clients for employment retention to ensure sustainable employmentSupport by presenting information about Dixon Hall Employment Services to employers, community agencies, networks and other stakeholdersLead group sessions and workshops on employability skills, critical thinking, workplace resilience,
and career developmentMapping and updating department’s employer database and business networkRemain current with knowledge of labour marketOrganize events and meetings for employers to develop the organization’s relationships and sustain the employer baseEffectively recruit relevant employers and positions that match clients' skills, capabilities, interests, and experienceWork collaboratively with members of the team to organize job and career fairsActively participate in meetings and events as relevantOrganizational ResponsibilitiesWork collaboratively with the Centre services delivery team, manager and other Dixon Hall staff and volunteersActively participate in department and agency meetings and eventsMeet regularly with manager to discuss individual, team and employment services effectivenessAdministration and ReportingAdhere to agency and program policies and proceduresBackfill tasks in the Dixon Hall Employment Services Centre as neededObtain, report, and maintain data of key statistics including customer service data, workshop evaluations, etcProvide monthly updates on client testimonials to highlight service impactRequired to meet program and funding quotasActively participate in department and agency meetings and eventsCollect documentation for evidence-based reporting on retention outcomesOther duties as requiredQualificationsPost-secondary education in marketing or business administrationRelevant post-secondary education may be exempted by the employer if the applicant has three to four (3 – 4) years’ experience working with adult education in the private, government, non-governmental, or non-profit sectors designing and delivering trainings in various subjects that include but are not limited to human rights, development, employment, etcDemonstrated knowledge of labour market conditions and systemic barriers to employment and experience delivering workshops and trainings focused on second career development and employment essentialsExperience working with unemployed, underemployed, homeless and marginally housed individuals, and knowledge of the challenges facing individuals with significant barriers to entering the labour marketComputer literacy utilizing MS Office applications with proficiency in word processing,
spreadsheet, database, presentation software and search engine applicationsStrong interpersonal, employment coaching, negotiation, mediation, interviewing and presentation skillsSound knowledge of adult assessment, training techniques, sales presentations, and closing techniques, customer matching and marketing techniquesContacts in the business and labour communities an assetStrong verbal and written English language communication skills; fluency in additional languages, relevant to the communities of service, will be considered an assetMust be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employerAble to provide a “Explicit” or satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check as determined by the operational requirements of the programMust be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employerAble to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a ‘Clear’ or satisfactory result that meets the operational requirements of the AgencyMust have up-to-date vaccinations against COVID-19 with a vaccine that has been approved for use in CanadaWorking ConditionsModern facility, temperature controlled, built to meet current accessibility standardsCombination of natural and fluorescent lightingRequired to meet deadlines and productivity targetsPhysical and Sensory DemandsLong periods spent at a desk/computerAble to manipulate keys on a keyboardAble to tolerate a variety of indoor environments as determined by program locationAble to occasionally move loads weighing up to twenty (20) pounds/9.07 kgDixon Hall may use Artificial Intelligence-assisted tools during the recruitment process to support efficiency and consistency.
