Role Description: The Treatment Coordinator supports patients through their surgical care journey.
Responsibilities include
reviewing proposed treatment plans
ensuring patients understand clinical recommendations and next steps
discussing financial arrangements & confirming insurance benefits
scheduling procedures
helping patients prepare for procedures and navigate the recovery phase
maintaining accurate patient records
communicating with the clinical team about treatment timelines
following up with patients to support case acceptance and continuity of care
ensuring the necessary surgical materials are available and organized for procedures
answering patient inquiries promptly and politely in person and by email/phone
contributing to a smooth, organized front-office workflow
Qualifications
Understanding of dental surgery procedures(gum/bone grafting, implant placement, debridement, etc,);, treatment timelines, and post-op care requirements.
Knowledge of insurance processes, including verification of benefits, pre-authorizations, claims coordination; confidence in discussing financial responsibilities with patients.
Proven customer service capabilities, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and a patient-focused approach in a clinical setting.
Excellent communication skills, including transparent verbal and written communication and the ability to collaborate effectively with dentists, specialists, and support staff.
Prior experience in a dental office, preferably in oral surgery or periodontics.
Current LDA (CDA) status with BCCOHP is an asset.
Proficiency with practice management software (ClearDent), basic office computer skills, and capturing digital diagnostic records.
Organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple cases and appointments in a quick-paced environment.
