We are currently seeking a candidate who is qualified for the role of full time Welding Engineering who is responsible for communicating and implementing engineered welding solutions to ensure quality compliance. The successful candidate for the Welding Engineering role must be willing to travel domestically and internationally per project requirements. The hours will typically be in the office Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Base salary:$65,000 - $75,000 / year

Typical Duties Include (but are not limited to):
Ensures welding fabrications are in compliance with standard welding engineering practices and applicable customer specifications
Develop welding automated robot programs
Review and optimize existing welding robot programs
Support welding technicians with welding robot programs writing
Support welding technicians with machine setup
Provides technical expertise and solutions within the scope of the project requirements such as specifications, welding requirements and project information
Collaborate with customers, vendors and project team (PM, QA) to ensure implementation of welding procedures and practices
Oversee progress to ensure execution is performed according to the welding specifications




Provide welding processes support and suggest ways to improve and optimize them

Excellent problem solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills

Key Experience/Education:
College Degree or University Degree in welding engineering, mechanical engineering, materials engineering or automation engineering is required
Skilled automated welding engineering experience an asset
Hands-on welding processes and practices an asset
Background in mechanical design principles an asset
Multidisciplinary experience including interactions with software, electrical and mechanical engineering groups
Knowledge of optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy an asset
Basic understanding of titanium alloys, nickel based alloys and/or cobalt based alloys microstructures an asset
Basic understanding of weld defect generation an asset
