Be a key player at Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre as a Youth Program Support Worker for the Alternative Secondary School Program. This full time position aims to uplift urban Indigenous students through education. As a Support Worker, you will collaborate with the Lakehead District School Board to administer and deliver educational services.
Employing a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach, you’ll facilitate learning and engagement for participants. A minimum of three years in education or social services is preferred. Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate educational activities for the ASSP
Facilitate workshops that meet youth needs
Draft and manage reports on program effectiveness
Build relationships to promote youth trust and engagement
Work flexibly including evenings or weekends Requirements:
Relevant degree or 3+ years in social services
Understanding of the Indigenous cultural landscape
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Robust problem-solving and decision-making skills
Transparent criminal reference check required Enhance the lives of youth through education in this fulfilling role.
