Drive health and safety initiatives at the University of Toronto Mississauga as a Health & Safety Advisor. Oversee compliance with Ontario regulations and support safety programs for all campus members. In this full time position, you will ensure adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other workplace regulations.
A Master’s Degree in Occupational Industrial Hygiene is required alongside five years of experience, particularly in academic settings or union environments. You will develop training programs, conduct assessments, and advise management on necessary safety strategies and legislation. Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with Ontario Health and Safety regulations
Develop and implement health and safety training programs
Investigate workplace accidents and safety concerns
Collaborate with safety committees and external agencies
Serve as a resource for health and safety legislation interpretation Requirements:
Master’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent
Five years of related work experience
Expertise in OHSA and safety regulations
Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
