Help keep Guelph protected this winter as a Public Works Winter Control Labourer. This role involves operating snow-clearing equipment and performing physical tasks during every snowfall. This temporary position is slated from November 2026 until about mid-April 2027, focusing on both roads and sidewalks.

The successful candidate will prioritize customer service and teamwork while working with Public Works to enhance community safety. Flexibility in availability is crucial due to unpredictable weather conditions. Key Responsibilities:
Operate winter equipment like tractors and plows
Participate in snow and ice removal operations
Log tasks and report necessary repairs
Collaborate on safety and operational improvements
Execute related duties as assigned Requirements:
Minimum completion of Grade 12
1 year experience in similar roles
Class G license required; Class DZ is advantageous
Solid mechanical aptitude and physical ability
Awareness of Occupational Health & Safety compliance Be proactive in enhancing Guelph’s winter operations as part of a dedicated team this season.
