About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a growing logistics and transportation organization who is seeking a Controller to step in immediately and provide leadership across day-to-day accounting operations. This role is critical in ensuring continuity and accuracy during a transition period, working closely with an outgoing contract Controller for knowledge transfer.

This is an excellent prospect for someone who thrives in a hands-on setting, enjoys improving processes, and can confidently oversee a small team while remaining actively involved in the details.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements
Maintain bank and credit card reconciliations and fixed asset records
Prepare and file sales tax returns and ensure adherence to accounting policies
Oversee weekly billings and payments




Lead and support a small A/P and A/R team
Provide back-up support across A/P, A/R, and Financial Analyst functions as needed
Prepare for and liaise with external auditors
Finalize work instructions and drive process improvements
Participate in ERP improvements and ensure effective internal controls
Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as required

What We’re Looking For
Previous hands-on Controller or senior accounting experience
NetSuite experience required
Advanced Excel skills required
Experience with multi-segment account structures
Experience preparing for and working with Big Four audits
Strong financial reporting and full-cycle accounting knowledge
Experience leading a small accounting team
Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with a robust process improvement mindset
