We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Cleaner for a Licensed Daycare Facility in Goderich, ON to help maintain a clean, sanitary, and child-safe environment. This role is critical to supporting the health, safety, and well-being of children, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, understands the importance of hygiene in childcare settings, and follows strict cleaning and safety protocols.

Duties
Perform weekly (on either Saturday or Sunday) deep cleaning and sanitizing of daycare areas, including classrooms, washrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas
Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, tables, chairs, toys, and play equipment
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors using child-safe cleaning products
Clean and sanitize washrooms, sinks, and diaper-change areas according to health guidelines
Empty garbage and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly
Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper as required




Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness standards are met throughout the facility
Follow all health, safety, and infection-control procedures specific to childcare settings
Report maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly to supervisors

Requirements
Previous cleaning experience in a daycare, school, healthcare, or commercial setting is preferred
Knowledge of proper sanitizing and disinfecting procedures, especially in childcare environments
Solid attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Physically capable of performing cleaning tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
Reliable transportation is an asset

Job Type: Fixed term contract Pay: From $18.00 per hour
