F/T Temporary 40 hours/week, 4-month fixed term contract

Medical Leave coverage The Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver is an organization that provides educational, recreational, cultural and social programs and services in the Oakridge area. We need to fill one custodian position to fill an 4-month medical leave as follows:
Shift: Sundays - 3:00pm - 11:30pm, Mondays-Thursdays - 9:00pm - 5:30am (40 hours/wk)

Main responsibilities:
Clean assigned area ensuring that first impressions are inviting before the arrival of staff and members
Explicit and clean garbage containers, replace liners as required and dispose of garbage, recyclables and organics.
Vacuum carpets and sweep, mop and wax floors
Dust, polish, brush, disinfect or scrub furnishing, windows and other surfaces
Check, clean, sanitize and restock washrooms, towel cabinets and kitchen areas daily
Spot clean as required
Secure areas of responsibilities i.e. lock doors and windows, set security system
Keep supplies orderly,



record supplies used and monitor inventory of supplies and tools
Moves, lifts and performs setups for room bookings. Also taking down setups after function has ended.
Perform other related duties and participate in work related training as required

Qualifications:
Ability to use judgment in applying clearly prescribed methods and procedures
Ability to communicate effectively using courtesy and tact in the routine exchange of information
Physical ability to perform the required duties and to lift 30 pounds
Must be available to work night shift
WHMIS Certificate
Successful applicant must have a explicit criminal record check for working around children and vulnerable adults.

Wage:
Wage: $27.17/hr.
