Step into a vital accounting role in South Vancouver as the Commercial Fisheries Accountant for a leading seafood exporter. You'll take on responsibilities related to fisheries settlements and quota management while communicating directly with fishermen. This permanent full time role requires you to manage all aspects of financial allocations including verification of critical data related to fish tickets.
In collaboration with senior operations staff, you will ensure all licenses and compliance matters are addressed timely and accurately. Key Responsibilities:
Manage settlement calculations, adjustments, and distributions
Oversee daily communications regarding licenses with fishermen
Ensure accuracy in fish ticket and regulatory submissions
Maintain relationships and act as a liaison with fishermen
Support financial management decisions with upper management Requirements:
CPA designation or substantial accounting experience
Preferred 5+ years in fisheries or seafood sectors
High-level communication skills in English
Robust grasp of fisheries quota management processes
