Tutor

Location: West London

Hours: 20 hours per week (part-time), term-time only (Monday-Friday availability required)

Pay: £30-35 per hour

We are looking for an experienced and supportive tutor to work with a young person who requires additional learning and emotional support. This is a rewarding role that involves helping to create a positive and responsive learning workplace across both home and school settings in the Shepherd's Bush/West London area. Some planning (alongside school staff) and regular feedback to parents and wider professionals will be part of the role.

Tutor Role

Based in West London, this part-time position involves delivering a tailored curriculum in collaboration with teachers and another support mentor. Strong behaviour-support and relationship-building skills are essential. The young person attends a mainstream school and receives additional support from both a tutor and a1:1mentor.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide sessions either in school or at home, depending on the student's needs
- Deliver and adapt curriculum content (Year 7 level) in partnership with teaching staff




- Build trust and emotional safety by working at the student's pace
- Use positive, student-centred approaches to support engagement
- Support independence while offering guidance when needed
- Identify potential sensory or emotional challenges and respond appropriately
- Encourage communication, provide processing time, and offer flexible choices
- Help promote emotional regulation through a calm, consistent approach
- Accompany the student to familiar and supportive environments when needed

Essential Qualities

- Experience supporting autistic children or young people with additional needs
- Experience with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs is beneficial but not essential
- Flexibility in how support is delivered
