Job title

Optometric Dispenser

Purpose

As an Optometric Dispenser, you will play a critical role in helping patients select and fit prescriptioneyewear based on their visual needs, prescriptions, and lifestyle preferences. You will provide expert advice on lens options, frame styles, and aftercare, ensuring an outstanding customer experience.

Duties and responsibilities

 Interpret and verify optical prescriptions issued by optometrists.

 Assist patients in selecting frames that fit, suit their lifestyle, and are within their budget.

 Advise on lens types, coatings, and frame adjustments to optimize vision and comfort.

 Measure patients’ pupillary distance (PD), bridge size, and other parameters for proper eyewear

fitting.

 Fit, adjust, and repair eyewear to ensure optimal vision correction and comfort.

 Educate patients on proper eyewear care and maintenance.

 Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and product orders.





 Order lenses and frames from suppliers and ensure timely delivery.

 Ensure all optical equipment and displays are maintained and organized.

 Stay informed about current eyewear trends and technological advancements in lenses and frames.

Skills, experience & education

 Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in a retail optical or clinical setting preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate.

 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

 Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work collaboratively in a team-oriented workplace.

 A commitment to providing high-quality, patient-focused care.

Must be available Saturdays 9am-4pm

Job Type: Full time

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
