Non-Ferrous Labourer

Rypac Metal Recycling is currently seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Yard Labourer. As a Non-Ferrous Labourer, you will be responsible for grading and processing scrap metal, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining yard cleanliness.

This is a full time position based out of our Surrey location. Prior experience in the scrap metal industry is preferred but not required.

Qualifications:
Ability for Physical Work – This is a physically demanding job and applicants must be able to frequently walk on uneven ground, handle and grasp materials, crouch, bend, reach, climb, twist, push, pull and lift/carry up to 50 pounds
Comfortable Working Outside – We operate an outdoor recycling facility and applicants must be comfortable working outside in all types of weather.
English – Applicants must be able to communicate verbally in English.
Forklift – Applicants must be able to operate a forklift and various small tools. A forklift license is not required to apply and successful applicants will be provided with on-the-job training in accordance with CSA B335-15.





Responsibilities:
Receive and grade various types of metal.
Process metal as it is received and ensure that all material is properly packaged and stored in the correct location
Provide exceptional customer service to all customers and vendors; greet customers as they enter the yard and assist them with unloading and grading material
Maintain a protected, clean, and organized work environment.
Communicate effectively with team members and management.
Assist with inventory management and reporting.
Perform other duties as assigned.
