Heavy Duty Mechanic - Campbell River, BC

Our client is looking for a Heavy Duty Mechanic to support their operations in a dynamic industrial and marine workplace. Located in Menzies Bay, just 14 km north of Campbell River, this long-standing company has been serving the tug and barge community, forestry, aquaculture, recreational fishing, and remote coastal communities for over 26 years. With the addition of a full-service boatyard capable of hauling and repairing vessels up to 150 tons, the team plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing a wide range of marine and land-based equipment.

The successful candidate will conduct inspections, diagnose issues, perform overhauls, and execute repairs on a variety of equipment, including: heavy machinery, forklifts, tugboats, and other vessels.

Responsibilities
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of marine and land-based heavy equipment, including forklifts, loaders, tugboats, and other vessels.
Perform routine maintenance and overhauls to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic,



and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and technical expertise.
Collaborate with the team to complete projects efficiently and meet operational demands.

Qualifications
Valid Heavy Duty Mechanic certificate (Red Seal certification is an asset).
Forklift certification.
Valid driver’s license.
2+ years of experience as a ticketed Heavy Duty Mechanic.
Able to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
Ability to commute reliably to Campbell River, BC, or plan to relocate before starting.
