Job description:

Essential duties and responsibilities
Obtains copy of production schedule and/or shipping documents
Loading and unloading of trucks with forklift
Picking and Staging orders
Moving goods packed on Pallets or in Totes around the storage facility
Stacking goods in the correct storage locations, following inventory control instructions
Checking loads are secure
Stacking empty pallets
Performing daily equipment checks
Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines
Examining products to verify quantity and quality standards

Qualification requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
High degree of attention to detail required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
Maintain a clean & secure workplace
Clean driving record and a valid motor vehicle operator’s license
Two years of safe operation on an electric forklift required
Previous Food Grade Warehousing an asset

Physical demands and abilities
Regularly sitting on a powered industrial truck
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time
Having a good sense of balance
Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
Ability to work in cold temperatures, freezer environment
Able to work in rotating shifts with potential overtime

Progressive pay scale

The successful candidate will start at 85% of base wage. Upon joining the Union (90 days probation period), pay will increase to $22.77 per hour.
