The Balancing Technician is responsible for testing, adjusting and balancing associated mechanical services and preventive maintenance on our clients’ air and water HVAC systems.
Key Responsibilities
Testing and balancing of client air and hydronic systems.
Troubleshoot faulty systems and effectively present findings for corrective actions
Tabulate field data into summary report format with sufficient explanations where
systems are deficient or non-functioning
Execute assigned projects professionally and in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Report problems or changes to management immediately.
Ensure customer/client satisfaction for tasks performed.
Follow all WorkSafe BC and other regulatory guidelines
Perform any other tasks or responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications (Education, Knowledge and Experience)
Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology. We are also willing to provide on the job training.
Must speak English
Must have a valid BC Drivers License and a car would be an asset
Must be physically able and willing to perform field-based work (climb ladders, walk on roofs, etc.)
Must be willing to drive long distances for jobs; at times, this job requires travel to multiple locations a day and/or multi day jobs away from the Home Office
Must be willing and motivated to learn and acquire current skills and knowledge
Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Asset
Previous experience / technical training in HVAC or equipment maintenance.
Knowledge of air and water distribution systems, ductwork and piping is desirable.
Physically fit and have a solid mechanical aptitude
