Wage:
$34.98 per hour (full time position; 37.5 hours) + benefits in accordance with UNION collective agreement
Location of Work:
Various locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Province of Ontario
Job Description:
- Review and complete PDI deficiency lists
- Apply paper or mesh tape and joint compound over drywall joints
- Mix plaster ingredients in trough to desired consistency
- Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster using trowels, floats, brushes and spraying equipment
- Cure freshly plastered surfaces
- Perform drywall repairs, patching, sanding and painting touch-ups
- Complete minor caulking and finishing work
- Repair minor damage to walls, ceilings and finishes
- Identify incomplete or defective work and report any issues requiring another trade
- Protect finished surfaces and keep work areas clean
- Take before-and-after photos and provide updates on completed work
- Coordinate with site supervisors, homeowners and other trades when required
- Follow all company policies and health and safety requirements
Job Requirements:
- 1-2 years of previous experience with PDI, deficiency or general handyman work
- Knowledge of hand and power finishing tools, taping machines, and mixing equipment
- Knowledge of drywall, painting and finishing repairs
- Ability to lift heavy materials, work in awkward positions, and work on ladders or scaffolding
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks efficiently
- Able to follow instructions and work well with others on construction sites.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read deficiency lists and follow instructions
- Own basic tools and reliable transportation
- Valid driver’s licence
