Position Summary
Responsible for preparing and cooking meals at the St Pauls’ Terrace Restaurant for a blended demographic of customers by coordinating, preparing and providing other supportive duties to its daily operations. Ensures safe food handling practices, and provides other duties to promote sustainability, quality food and safety.
Responsibilities
Creates blended menu options that meet the nutritional dietary needs of a diverse adult customer base
Prepares customized meals for dietary restrictions as needed
Plans and caters for special social events or business meetings as required.
Inspect food deliveries for quantity and quality, rejecting inferior items when necessary.
Cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment daily and reports maintenance or safety needs
Maintains kitchen equipment, reports to the supervisor about needs of purchase, necessary repairs, and any safety concerns in a timely manner
Follows safe food handling, preparation, storage,
and sanitation standards
Monitors kitchen environment regularly to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
Qualifications
Community College Diploma in Culinary Arts
Vulnerable Sector Check requiredOne-year work experience in preparing meals for 35 people or more
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced workplace.
Exposure to hot temperatures in the kitchen
