Opportunity The Alpha Strategies team operates as part of the Public Equities team at AIMCo managing a variety of market neutral relative value and arbitrage strategies using a combination of fundamental and quantitative analysis. We are actively engaged in capital markets and invest in equity and equity-linked opportunities across our strategies. This role will strengthen the team and investment strategy by providing support with investment research, portfolio analytics, operational and data management and technology infrastructure projects.
Note: This is a 4-month, full-time term from May 2027 through August 2027. ***Job Posting will expire at 11:59pm MT on September 30, 2026***
Responsibilities Contributing to the day-to-day operational support and management of the Alpha Strategies portfolio
Contributing to idea generation and investment research
Build and maintain valuation models, screening databases and related data sets
Proactively developing and communicating research for the team
Collaborating with a variety of teams within AIMCo to achieve common goals
Ideal Candidate In pursuit of an undergraduate degree in finance, economics, math, statistics, computer science or related field.
Proven financial modelling skills and ability to conduct detailed financial analysis.
Strong technical skills (Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Factset, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Working towards the completion of CFA Charter or other related designation is an asset.
Programming/data analysis skills and prior trading experience are considered assets.
Team player with robust communication and relationship building skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Success Measures Success at the end of your term will be determined by your ability to seek out learning opportunities and become involved in multiple projects, tasks, responsibilities, and investments. You will have developed an increased understanding of investment concepts and market knowledge, and a new appreciation of finance and investment management. A student who goes above and beyond expectations will participate in multiple projects and add value to team initiatives.
Final candidates will be asked to undergo a security screening, which includes a credit bureau and a criminal record investigation, the results of which must be acceptable to AIMCo.
