Become a Kinship Childcare Worker with Big Island Lake Cree Nation, instrumental in their Child Protection program. Support children in care by ensuring family connections and a nurturing community environment.

In this vital role with BILCN, you will collaborate with Saskatchewan Ministry of Social Services to promote child safety and support caregivers. Your responsibilities include assessing the needs of children in care and advocating for their developmental services. Build capacity in the community while ensuring culturally grounded placements for children.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support caregivers in maintaining protected child environments
• Educate on safety standard requirements and provide guidance
• Meet regularly with children to assess their needs




• Advocate for services that foster healthy child development
• Collaborate with MSS staff on home safety studies

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or relevant field
• 2+ years in child welfare or protection roles
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and child development
• Strong interpersonal skills for relationship-building
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license required
