The Canadian Mortgage Investment Group has an exciting opportunity for a .NET Application Developer for RBC Capital Markets Information Technology providing support, development, and strategic solutions to support our mortgage investment business.

What will you do?

- Design and code application programs; perform testing for developed applications.
- Review, analyze, and modify programming systems, including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for large-scale mortgage investment systems.
- Ensure the operating efficiency of existing application systems. Maintain records for the documentation of systems development and revisions.
- Conduct analyses of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems that support mortgage investment strategies and operations.
- Design, develop, test, and implement scalable technical solutions that will support Canadian Mortgage Investment Group business objectives.
- Collaborate with peers to develop code in line with strategic initiatives, and develop, troubleshoot, enhance, and document components to meet the needs of user requirements specific to mortgage investment operations.
- Create and review technical design documents, understand how the design will be used in the development, and facilitate meetings to design, troubleshoot, and execute mortgage investment technology projects.
- Conduct thorough unit/integration testing, often developing and leveraging automated testing frameworks, and improve performance of functions through performance tuning to support high-volume mortgage data processing.
- Estimate activities and tasks required to perform design, coding, and unit testing.
- Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.



Facilitate requirements prioritization based on business value and mortgage investment priorities.
- Participate in the developer community, contribute to continuous improvement and best practices.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

- 5+ years of practical experience with large enterprise applications as a developer in C# / .NET applications, including .NET Core and .NET Framework
- Proficient with Microsoft SQL Server, working with large relational databases
- Practical experience in REST API/Micro Services, Web Services, JSON and interface specifications (Swagger, SOAP)
- Knowledge of enterprise-level security protocols (Kerberos, SSL Certificates, Encryption, Authentication)
- Practical experience maintaining and deploying applications on IIS
- Strong knowledge of unit testing frameworks and methodologies
- Experience with Tableau for data visualization and reporting
- Strong knowledge of Agile development, CI/CD pipelines, Dev Ops, version control and software packaging, and experience in tools such as Jenkins, Nexus, GITHUB, JIRA, ServiceNow, Confluence, SharePoint, etc.
- Robust systems knowledge including different programming languages, IT standards, methodologies, audit requirements, and middleware technologies
- Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills. Ability to determine the information and communication needs of stakeholders and projects
- Results-oriented and deadline-driven developer with ability to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously

Nice-to-have

- Strong proficiency in Java development
- Experience with JavaScript and Excel VBA




- Knowledge of derivatives and risk management concepts
- Experience in Financial Services, Capital Markets, or mortgage investment operations
