The Opportunity – Intermediate Environmental Engineer / Professional Hazen Canada is seeking an Intermediate Environmental Engineer to join our Calgary, Alberta office. The successful candidate will serve as a project management leader: working directly with watershed and water resource clients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to business development efforts across Alberta and Western Canada. Key Responsibilities Lead and execute projects in the areas of Watershed Management, Water Resources Strategy and Integrated Planning. Regularly engage with clients on all project matters for the full project life cycle. Responsible for project controls and internal systems.
Plan workshops and lead facilitated meetings and group conversations. Lead project teams of junior and / or technical resources. Prioritize and delegate assignments. Engage in client development and management supported by local offices Required Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Master’s degree in a related discipline preferred. Qualified Engineer 7-10 years' experience, including at least 5 years project management experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, self-motivation, organization, and attention to detail Superior technical writing skills Experience and confidence in meeting facilitation Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of Alberta regulatory frameworks, water licensing and water-related Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act and cascading regulations.
