Job Responsibility:

Hensall Co-op is seeking an Originator to work with new and existing growers to capitalize on food grade origination opportunities including IP soybeans and edible dry beans. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter who can create long-term relationships to meet sales goals and organizational objectives. A significant portion of this position will be spent on the road, servicing and securing customers in a wide geographic region covering North Huron, North Perth, Grey, Bruce, Simcoe and Wellington counties. The remainder of the position will be performed between a home office and/or an identified HC location.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Origination of contracts for food grade soybeans and edible dry beans
Procurement of commercial grains
Assist with retail sales for seed and crop protection products
Develop and maintain relationships with customers and provide updates on market trends, quotes and the ag business overall, including participation in grower meetings, trade shows, etc.
Record keeping and administration of contract documentation such as Field trace, Field Scouting, Quality Assurance, signed contracts etc.




Work with growers on plots and in-field demonstration trials for evaluating recent products and practices.
Maintain sales targets, prospect lists and product targets that strive to meet the overall organizational goals.
Various other duties as required.

Qualifications:
Excellent communication, organization and time management skills
Solid agricultural background and knowledge of industry
Strategic selling and negotiation skills

Job Requirements:
Post-Secondary degree/diploma is required - Agriculture focus is an asset
Minimum 5 years' previous experience in a sales position
Valid Ontario Driver's License
