Oyster Shucker — Fanny Bay Oyster Bar

Fanny Bay Oyster Bar is looking for a skilled, reliable, and hardworking Oyster Shucker to join our team. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their shucking technique, works well under pressure, and is passionate about high-quality oysters and exceptional guest experiences.

What You’ll Do
Shuck oysters quickly, safely, and consistently while maintaining excellent presentation.
Prepare oysters according to restaurant standards and specifications.
Inspect oysters for quality, freshness, and presentation.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary shucking station.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of oysters and seafood.
Keep up with high-volume service while maintaining quality and accuracy.
Work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service.
Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
Maintain and properly care for shucking knives, tools, and equipment.
Complete additional tasks and duties as assigned by the supervisor.





What We’re Looking For
Previous oyster-shucking or seafood-handling experience preferred; training is available.
Restaurant, oyster bar, seafood market, or culinary experience is an asset.
Solid attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Excellent communication and guest-service skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a rapid-paced, high-volume environment.
Reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented.
FoodSafe Level 1 certification required, or willingness to obtain.
Valid Serving It Right certification required.
Adaptable availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is an asset.
