Family Physician 0.25‑0.75 FTE – Churchill & Lac Brochet, Brochet, Tadoule Lake
Independent Contractor – CLOSING DATE: Until Filled
Hourly Range: $237.32
Site Description
Physicians deploy from Winnipeg to community sites through chartered aircrafts, Monday through Friday on rotational time frames.
In‑province travel and accommodations are covered by the organization.
Out‑of‑province travel is paid for physicians holding 0.25 FTE (5‑7 days monthly) and for locum providers with a commitment of 2 consecutive weeks (12 days).
Community Sites
- Churchill – 1004 air kilometres north of Winnipeg on the west shore of Hudson Bay (Population: ~900)
- Lac Brochet – 423 air kilometres west of Churchill (Population: ~990)
- Brochet – 439 air kilometres west of Churchill (Population: ~400)
- Tadoule Lake – 258 air kilometres west of Churchill (Population: ~310)
Qualifications
- Must hold licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba, or be eligible for licensure.
- Current membership in the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
Certifications
- Advanced Life Support (ACLS) – current
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) – current within 6 months of hire
- Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – current within 6 months of hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – current within 6 months of hire
- Indigenous cultural awareness course – current within 6 months of hire
- Manitoba Opioid Antagonist Therapy (OAT) course or equivalent is encouraged.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong health assessment and clinical skills are required.
- Excellent leadership, critical thinking and cooperative interpersonal skills.
- Must be self‑motivated and able to work independently as part of a health care team alongside extended practice nurses, paramedics and other allied professionals.
- Must demonstrate an appreciation of Indigenous worldviews, cultures and be sensitive in providing anti‑racist, trauma‑informed care.
- Must be able to prioritise, manage time effectively and be flexible.
- Must possess a dependable, consistent and reliable work record, including attendance at work.
Compensation
Compensation is remunerated as per Doctors Manitoba. This position is covered under the Northern Independent Contractor GP Agreement (April 1 2023 – March 31 2027).
