The Educational Assistant serves under the Principal and collaborates closely with teaching staff. Key responsibilities include assisting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, implementing special programs, and providing support for those with developmental disabilities. This energetic role requires adaptability, as you'll engage in a variety of academic and extracurricular activities, including yard duties and physiotherapy support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities
• Implement academic and special education programs
• Participate in yard duties and assist with toileting
• Apply knowledge of educational communication software
• Maintain confidentiality and support a safe learning environment
Requirements:
• College diploma in Developmental Services Worker or Child and Youth Care
• 1-2 years of experience with special needs children
• Valid First Aid/CPR certification
• Training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or BMS
• Ability to document and observe student behavior
