Join the Union of Nova Scotia Mi'kmaq as a Project Manager for the Regional Data Centre, focused on data sovereignty and cultural preservation. This full time role requires leading project planning and implementation.
The successful candidate will report to the Governance Manager in either Membertou or Cole Harbour, managing a two-year project with possible extension. You will be instrumental in establishing a Regional Data Centre that empowers Mi'kmaq communities by advancing data governance and infrastructure. Proficiency in stakeholder engagement, budget management, and risk assessment are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and oversee the Regional Data Centre initiative
• Advance community-driven data governance practices
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
• Coordinate meetings and document project progress
• Ensure compliance with Indigenous data governance frameworks
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in relevant fields or equivalent experience
• 5+ years managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools
• Strong understanding of Indigenous data sovereignty
• Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation
