Become an essential part of the Indigenous Education team as an Indigenous Grad Coach with Superior-Greenstone District School Board. Focus on mentoring and supporting Indigenous students and families toward graduation success.
This position reports to the Manager of Indigenous Education and is focused on implementing programs for Indigenous student achievement. As an Indigenous Grad Coach, you will guide students, facilitate access to resources, and build vital relationships. Your commitment will significantly enhance academic success and graduation rates for Indigenous students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Report daily on program success to the School Principal
• Act as a mentor and advocate for student achievement
• Identify at-risk students based on collected data
• Develop intervention strategies to enhance graduation rates
• Organize community cultural activities and events
Requirements:
• College Diploma in Social Work or Indigenous Studies
• Minimum one year relevant progressive experience
• Understanding of local First Nations culture and traditions
• Fluency in Ojibwa language is an asset
• Valid driver's license with reliable vehicle
