Title: Senior Consultant, Sustainability Controls & Governance
Duration: 6+ months with possible extension.
Location: Toronto, ON (4 days - Onsite)
Pay Range: $50 - $60/hr.

Job Summary
Our client is seeking senior Finance Controls, Risk & Governance professional, to strengthen its Sustainability Reporting control framework. The role will focus on risk assessment, control design, governance, regulatory readiness, sustainability disclosures, and audit/assurance support.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and enhance sustainability reporting controls and governance frameworks.
Assess risks, controls, deficiencies, and remediation activities.
Partner with Finance, Sustainability, Risk, Audit, and other stakeholders.
Support compliance with evolving ESG/sustainability disclosure regulations.
Coordinate with Internal/External Audit on reporting and assurance matters.
Identify emerging risks and recommend control/process improvements.
Prepare reporting and recommendations for senior leadership, CFO, and Board committees.
Provide SME guidance and training on controls, risk, and governance.
Must-Haves
10+ years of relevant experience in Finance Controls, Risk, Audit, Governance, or Compliance.
University degree in a related field.
Strong risk and controls lifecycle experience, including remediation.
Experience with ESG/Sustainability reporting controls, audit, or assurance.
Solid banking/financial services and financial reporting knowledge.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage complex initiatives.
Nice-to-Haves
CPA or CIA.
Knowledge of TCFD, ISSB, SASB, GRI, CSRD.
ESG/Sustainability certification or experience.
Familiarity with Archer and Workiva ESG.
