The Infection Control Qualified is an essential member of the Houses of Providence team, responsible for developing and executing infection surveillance and outbreak management. Your role involves engaging with staff and educating them on effective infection control measures to safeguard resident well-being. Collaboration and innovation are key as the ICP supports ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead infection surveillance and outbreak management efforts
• Develop and implement policies to reduce infection risk
• Analyze daily infection data for quality improvement
• Facilitate staff education on infection prevention
• Participate in infection control research initiatives
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Microbiology, or similar
• Infection prevention experience in a long-term care context
• CBIC certification or commitment to pursue
• Knowledge in teaching, epidemiology, and statistics
• Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
