Key Accountabilities: In this role, you will:
Supervises the overall operations on the cross dock and offload/load processes,proceduresand people
Maintain and execute the daily work plan to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of inbound/outbound load execution.
Maintain scheduling,disciplineand performance management for the employees in theunloading/loadingprocess.
Create and change dockworkersschedules as dictated by demand and performance.
Continuallymonitorworkloads throughout the department and actively pursueadditionalresources when justified.
Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations andutilizationto coordinate service and schedules
Create initiatives and procedures that maximize organizational ability to service clients with the mostefficiencypossible.
Breakdown, verify and process worker’s activity logs.
Maintain and update the departmental communication log.
Generally,maintainan open and effective dialogue with all workers to ensure fairness and clarityof understanding.
Create andmaintainlogsthat arenecessary to perform quick checks and assessments to ensure the highest quality.
Respond to complaints with thoroughness and accuracy.
Adhere to corporate and departmental policies and procedures
Ensures all workers have the required training through Carriers Edge (Manager/Supervisor Training Program)
Completion of all required training through Carriers Edge(Manager/Supervisor Training Program)
Performs other duties asrequired
Qualifications We’relooking for someone who brings:
Education & Experience: Management level experienceof team leadershippreferred
Previousexperience in warehouse/LTL environmentisconsidered an asset
Transportation industry knowledge and experience an asset (i.e.shipping/receiving, scheduling, freightnegotiationsand regulatory requirements
Skills & Attributes: Computer skills - Outlook, Excel, Word
Clean Criminal Record
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionallyat all times
Able to work well under pressure
Flexible, able to deal with change
Strong attention to detail
