High School Math Teacher/Tutor at Oxford Learning Centres Inc.

Overview
Oxford Learning West Vancouver is seeking part time teacher-tutors to work with students in our learning centre. This role involves teaching up to three students at a time, both online and in-person, following Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.

Responsibilities (Position Details)

Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels

Teach online and in-person

Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies

Filling in post-lesson notes

Complete daily student communication updates

Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times

Requirements
Education

Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field

Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered

Teaching certification is an asset

Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 math curriculum (including advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, vectors)

Experience

Some experience teaching/tutoring math at Grade 9–12 (or equivalent)

Strong English written and oral communication skills

Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding

Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time





Schedule and Location

Evenings (3:30pm – 6:30pm)

Monday to Friday

This is an in-person position in West Vancouver; relocation packages are not available

Additional Details

Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory

Commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred; continuing through the summer is a plus

Must be able to commute to the West Vancouver location
