Support immigrant students at Surrey Schools as a Bilingual Settlement Worker fluent in English and Spanish. Assist with their integration into Canadian society through focused guidance and resources.
In this critical role, you will help newcomers navigate educational systems and cultural challenges. As a Settlement Worker in Schools, your experience will facilitate integration, needs assessment, and specialized programming for youth. Deliver services that address mental health, cultural adjustment, and high school completion for students navigating transitions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct settlement needs assessments and action plans
• Provide consultation on health and community resources
• Support transition to school for children with complex needs
• Facilitate workshops and outreach events in schools
• Maintain client information confidentiality
Requirements:
• Fluency in English and Spanish
• Two years' experience working with diverse populations
• Knowledge of immigration and settlement issues
• Solid facilitation and communication skills
• Valid B.C. Driver's License required
