Join the Learning Services Department as a Response Support Worker focused on assisting students with social and emotional needs. This position is ideal for energetic individuals ready to support diverse student populations.
As a Response Support Worker, you will work with students referred to Student Services, under the supervision of the Mental Health and Behaviour Team. Your role involves implementing behaviour management plans, providing classroom support, and ensuring students' inclusion in activities. You'll receive guidance but are expected to work independently, contributing to a positive school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with behaviour management plans and monitoring
• Support classroom teachers with intervention strategies
• Attend meetings for student planning and support
• Promote social skills through modelling positive behaviours
• Administer medication and First Aid when necessary
Requirements:
• High school diploma and education assistant certification
• Up to two years in a related role
• Registered Behaviour Technician certification preferred
• Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license
• Positive behaviour support knowledge
Effectively assist students in learning environments while fostering their personal independence and well-being.
