Support vulnerable youth as a Casual Direct Support Worker with The Salvation Army at Bethany Home. This role focuses on meeting emotional and physical needs in a residential setting.
In your role as a Casual Direct Support Worker, you will provide critical support in a residential environment for female youth in crisis. Your responsibilities will include counseling, crisis intervention, and ensuring a secure, nurturing atmosphere while adhering to program policies. You will collaborate closely with staff and external agencies to achieve each resident's case plan goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support residents' emotional and physical needs daily
• Provide individual counseling and crisis intervention
• Maintain documentation of behaviors and incidents
• Prepare meals and ensure kitchen cleanliness
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and social workers
Requirements:
• Diploma in Social Science/Service or related field
• Minimum one year of relevant experience
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate preferred
• First Aid/CPR certification
• Ability to handle difficult situations with patience
