NSB-Omega is looking for an Intermediate Drilling Engineer for one of our major clients in St. John's, NL

Assignment Description
Works with JVAsset Manager to develop an effective influencing campaign. Establishes and maintains a healthy, collaborative relationship with the operator's drilling & wells team.

Responsible to generate Wells cost estimates as required.

Responsible to identify Wells related project risks.

Responsible to review technical plans and processes.

Responsible to maintain listings of active regional JV projects.

Obtains the upcoming JV Non-Operated Drilling Program from the Regional Asset / Exploration Managers.

Validates technical well design for class 4 & 5 wells.

Monitors daily operations and provides technical expertise and feedback to assist operator.

Participates in joint technical team meetings, partner planning meetings, partner operations review meetings and ad hoc partner meetings.

Provides daily, weekly and monthly reporting to Regional Wells Director and JV Manager

Communicates significant Wells EHSevents/incidents to Regional Wells Director and regional EH&S; department JV contact.





Ensures that appropriate escalation of operational issues and over-expenditures occurs.

Incorporate and share lessons learned with Wells regions.

Qualifications Required
>5 years experience in offshore well construction, intervention, and abandonment activities

Registered with PEGNL as a qualified engineer

Conversant with offshore well construction standards, practices, and processes

Experience with well construction stage-gated processes

Interpersonal skills and ability to influence through non-authoritative leadership

Experience with subsea and platform well developments

Excellent communication in English and people management skills

Knowledge of all aspects of intervnetions, work overs, drilling, and completions

Understanding of geophysical, geological, and reservoir engineering considerations.

Working knowledge of applicable legislation

Communication and collaborative skills with other groups is essential. Including but not limited to, well engineering, EH&S;, subsurface, and management stakeholders
