Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman steamfitter/gasfitter or Journeyman plumber with gas ticket (domestic/general)to join our team. The ideal candidate will be capable of performing a variety of tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial hot water tanks and all types of boilers and all types of pipes within a residential multi-family setting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Read blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the layout of the installation of apartment buildings and heating system, and determine the materials required, estimate material costs, as well as maintain inventory required

Conduct system inspections and testing to ensure all installations meet safety codes, regulations, and company standards

Install hot water tank and complete repair and maintenance, change gas valves, control modules

Install and service different types of boilers, including steam boilers,



mid efficient, highly effective and make up unit.

Cut, assemble and install pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure

Install and maintain gas and liquid heating systems (radiators, emitters, heat plate exchanger etc.)

Test and replace defective equipment or components

Test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices.

Repair and service gas appliances and related equipment.

Maintain records of work performed and condition of facilities, materials used, and any follow-up required

Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and local building codes, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.

Be part of on-call and attend to emergencies as necessary and as scheduled by Facility Manager

Other relevant duties assigned by Regional Manager/Facilities Manager

Qualifications and Requirements

Journeyman red sealsteamfitter/pipefitter or Journeyman red seal plumber.

Gas Certification is a must (e.g. non-restricted and restricted experience are considered)

Must have commercial boiler and commercial hydronic heating experience

MUA (Make Up Air Unit) experience would be an asset

Experience in multi-family residential buildings is an asset

Experience using power tools safely and effectively is essential

Must have own tools

You must possess a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle to use at work

Must successfully complete a security clearance
