Guide the operations of the George Gordon First Nation as the Director of Operations, ensuring effective governance and community engagement. Work closely with Chief and Council to embody the nation’s cultural values in strategic planning.
As the Director of Operations, you will steer leadership efforts and manage GGFN's senior management team to maintain community programs. Your role will encompass financial management, promoting transparency, and advocating the First Nation’s interests externally. Engage regularly with community members to foster strong relationships and encourage participation in decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to GGFN
• Collaborate with Chief and Council on strategic initiatives
• Direct human resource activities and senior management
• Ensure financial management and budget tracking
• Advocate for GGFN’s interests with various stakeholders
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields; Master’s preferred
• Extensive senior leadership experience in Indigenous settings
• Solid understanding of First Nation culture and governance
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills
• High integrity with a strong ethical framework
