PositionDescription The FieldSystem Support Technician will monitor and troubleshoot operational systems andequipment from Emterra’s Remote Monitoring Center in Surrey, BC. This roleprovides real-time technical and operational support to the Operations team toidentify issues, coordinate solutions, and help keep operations running safelyand efficiently.
Thesuccessful candidate will have strong technical, analytical, andtroubleshooting skills and be comfortable working independently in a fast-pacedenvironment.
KeyResponsibilities Monitor operational systems,equipment, truck scales, cameras, and material flow to identify issues,risks, and outliers.
Respond to system alarms, performinitial troubleshooting, and take appropriate corrective action.
Diagnose electrical, mechanical,computer, and system issues remotely and support Maintenance and FieldService teams with resolution.
Monitor and update routes,schedules, equipment availability, and operational activities usingcomputer-based systems.
Coordinate truck repairscheduling with drivers, Maintenance, vendors, and other Emterralocations.
Maintain accurate logs ofincidents, system alarms, troubleshooting activities, and resolutions.




Support the Operations team withroot cause analysis and resolution of operational issues.
Escalate complex technical oroperational issues to the appropriate team.
Complete data entry, reports, andother administrative tasks related to Control Center operations.
Perform other duties as assignedby the Manager.
Qualifications& Skills 1-2 years of relevant workexperience required.
2-5 years of experience in atechnician or technical role with electrical and/or computer systems is anasset.
Strong troubleshooting,fault-diagnosis, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Mechanical or technical aptitude;electrical experience is an asset.
Experience with remotemonitoring, dispatch, fleet, transportation, or similar operations is anasset.
Strong computer skills andproficiency with Microsoft Office.
Ability to multitask, prioritize,and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication andtechnical writing skills.
Ability to work independently andas part of a team.
Experience in waste management,recycling, or transportation is an asset.
Schedule& Work Environment Full-time, 12-month contract
8-hour shifts
Schedule supports a 7-day-per-weekoperation.
Primarily office-based atEmterra’s Remote Monitoring Center in Surrey, BC.
Occasional exposure tooperational environments, including noise, dirt, odors, and varyingweather conditions.
Must follow all applicable safetyprocedures and PPE requirements.
Occasional travel to Emterra locations or operational sites may be required.
