Chief Clifford Lynxleg Anishinabe School (CCLAS) is a semi-remote school located in the community of Tootinaowaziibeeng Treaty Reserve 292, approximately 70 kilometres west of the City of Dauphin, Manitoba.

CCLAS serves students and families on the traditional territories of Treaties 2 and 4. We respect and value our relationships with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples who reside within these territories. This land has always been a place of learning, and we are thankful to live, work, and learn here. With respectful consideration, the programs and services provided to students and staff acknowledge Indigenous histories, cultures, contributions, and contemporary priorities.

Working at CCLAS provides educators with the opportunity to learn about and engage with Ojibway culture, language, traditions, and community life. The surrounding territory also offers many opportunities for outdoor recreation and land-based activities, including fishing, hiking, snowshoeing, canoeing, kayaking, snowmobiling, hunting, quadding, boating, skiing, and mountain biking.

The Opportunity :

CCLAS is currently seeking Early Years and Middle Years Teachers who are passionate about student learning and committed to creating welcoming, inclusive, culturally responsive, and engaging classroom environments.

Under the supervision of the Principal, teachers are responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing learning experiences that support students in achieving Manitoba curriculum outcomes.



Teachers are expected to create a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and to select and use effective instructional approaches, learning materials, and assessment practices that respond to the diverse strengths and needs of students.

Teachers will work collaboratively with students, Classroom Assistants, colleagues, school administration, families, and the broader community to support student success and well-being. Teachers are also expected to participate in school activities, skilled learning, and other initiatives that contribute to continuous school and student growth.

An interest in supporting the integration of First Nations language, culture, and land-based learning within the classroom;

The ability to establish respectful and positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, community members, and First Nations Peoples;

A student-centred approach to teaching and learning and a fundamental belief that all learners can achieve;

Knowledge of and experience with the Manitoba K–12 curriculum, particularly within Early Years and/or Middle Years;





A strong understanding of effective assessment and evaluation practices;

Knowledge of differentiated instruction and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse student learning needs;

Knowledge of Learner Support Services and inclusive educational practices;

Knowledge of trauma-informed educational practices and approaches that support student well-being;

Solid classroom management, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills;

A high level of professionalism and personal attributes that include integrity, flexibility, patience, reliability, and dedication; and

Strong professional ethics and the ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive matters involving students, families, and staff.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements :

Bachelor of Education degree from an accredited Canadian college or university, with qualifications appropriate to Early Years and/or Middle Years education;

Valid Manitoba teaching certificate or eligibility for certification in Manitoba;

Eligible to live and work in Canada;

Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence;

Current Criminal Record Check; and

Current Child Abuse Registry Check.
