Responsibilities Participate in the development of programs/policies/procedures that contribute to organizational development, and employee satisfaction while maximizing efficiencies and profitability and maintaining a balance between employee/employer needs.
Reviews and consults on management practices to ensure fair and consistent treatment of employees and that KIRCHHOFF Automotive is in compliance with all relevant legislation and KIRCHHOFF Automotive’s policies and procedures.
Assists in creating an workplace where there is respect and dignity in the workplace for all employees by providing management with the necessary tools that will assist them in dealing with managing people (i.e. external seminars, internal training workshops).
Attends management meetings to field questions regarding H.R. matters and provides updates (i.e. number of resignations, terminations, etc.).
Ensures all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and efficiently to complete recruitment process at local facility.
Conducts exit interviews with employees who voluntarily leave the organization and compiles reports.
Oversees the disciplinary function to ensure equitable and consistent application.
Responsible for Human Resources administrative support and coordination.
Liaises with temporary personnel agencies to ensure adequate staffing.
Liaises with Payroll regarding hires, wage/salary increases,
terminations, payroll deductions, records of employment, benefit premium monitoring, garnishees, and changes in employee status, vacations and leaves of absence.
Liaises with insurance carrier on claim status, clarification of plan coverage, enrolments and other benefit matters.
Enrolls, onboards and ensures proper documentation is completed for new employees.
Provides input regarding department processes, policies and procedures.
Responds to third party inquiries regarding employee status and salary.
Provides employees with employment letters upon request.
Deals with and handles confidential situations on a daily basis and ensures effective employee relations.
Coordinates, processes and tracks all training related requests as outlined in our internal procedures.
Coordinates and assists with employee programs and events.
Notifies and follows up with supervisors/managers regarding employee performance reviews.
Any other reasonable request made by management.
Come in for other shifts as required.
Requirements Minimum 3-5 years work experience, preferably within Human Resources department.
Sound knowledge of the Charter of Human Rights, Employment Standards Act, Ontario Labour Code and Health & Safety Act IATF 16949 requirements and Process Improvement methodology.
Understanding of the Automotive/manufacturing industry.
Skills Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Adaptive and resourceful.
Effective problem solving and decision making skills.
Practices confidentiality.
Computer skills, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email.
Education University Degree or College Diploma specializing in Human Resources.
