Job Summary
Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs to engines at the customer’s site.
We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Kamloops, BC).
Primary work location is Gibraltar Mine in McLeese Lake, BC, with candidates able to be based in Kamloops or Williams Lake.
We are seeking a new team member for a resident position that operates on a 7‑on/7‑off rotation with 12‑hour shifts under a collective bargaining agreement. The primary schedule will be day shift, though occasional night shifts may be required.
Travel to site and from site is outside of the 7 day shift.
Will make an impact in the following ways
Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
Maintain own tools
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following
Completes complex internal engine repairs
Performs engine overhauls unassisted
Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software
We will require a journeyperson with red seal.
Main working location is Gibraltar Mine reporting to the Remote Mining West operation from Hinton based in Kamloops/Williams Lake.

In this role, you will support our customer in their McLeese Lake operations, with the potential to assist at our sister operations when needed.
You will work at a mineral mine site, performing diagnostics and repairs on both Cummins and non‑Cummins engines and equipment.
Pre-access Drug and Alcohol testing will be required.
-This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations and must meet the conditions of the company policy
Education, Licenses, Certifications
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Basic level field service work experience
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
Customer service experience
