We are currently seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to join our Winnipeg office. This position may be based in our Winnipeg office or performed remotely for the Winnipeg office.

Role (Overview of the Position)
The Senior Bookkeeper will demonstrate a consistent level of quality in their work to a point where they can take responsibility of review and sign off of files. The Senior Bookkeeper is responsible for the accurate sign off of client files, managing communication with clients including participating in client onboarding, and supporting associate bookkeepers with file reviews, training, and issue resolution.
Responsibilities (Tasks Associated with the Role)
Ability to navigate through full-service bookkeeping services for external businesses on files of medium to high complexity
Manage, organize, and prioritize deliverables for multiple clients
Support a team of Associate Bookkeepers as a first point of contact for questions/issues
Review prepared bookkeeping files for accuracy and file sales taxes
Collaborate with Manager in client onboarding meetings and properly setup new client files for preparation
Manage ongoing correspondence with clients for file completion
Responsible for reviewing client T4s, ROE’s, WSIB, year end adjusting entries when applicable
Prepare and provide reporting to clients as needed
On-time and accurate completion of client files, and self-management of client list and support
Address constraints related to the completion of files to meet deadlines
Self-review of completed bookkeeping files to proactively address errors or omissions
Capacity expectations are (approximately): file review, client communication including client onboarding, completion of BKK files or procedures, team support, meetings/other

Qualifications/Skills & Experience
Working knowledge of Karbon, outlook, and other internal systems
Working knowledge of QBO and other bookkeeping software (as needed)
Ability to work independently and take ownership of work quality and timelines
Confidence in quality of overall work to be completed without supervision
Strong communication skills for client and team interaction
Sound problem solving ability and solutions focused mindset
Ability to work well within a team environment to support colleagues
