FCC Construcción, through its subsidiary FCC Canada, has been present in Canada for more than 25 years. In 1998, it was awarded the contract for the construction, operation, and maintenance of the Fredericton-Moncton motorway. In 2011, it was awarded the contract to the extension of a section of the Toronto subway expansion, the city's first modern subway infrastructure project. This project was completed in 2019.
In Canada, FCC is proud to be actively involved in multiple projects across Ontario and British Columbia aimed at improving public transportation and infrastructure.
Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations (PTUS) FCC Canada, in a 50/50 joint venture with Webuild Civil Works Inc., will deliver the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line. This includes the design, construction, supply, and operation of three kilometres of twin tunnels underneath Pape Avenue between the Gerrard tunnel portal and the Don Valley bridge,



two underground stations (Pape and Cosburn), two tunnel portals, three emergency exit buildings, and a rail switch/crossover near Sammon Avenue.
The Pape Station connection will interface with the Toronto Transit Commission Line 2 subway and related works.
The project uses a Progressive Design-Build (PDB) model, allowing greater collaboration between the project owner and contractor.
Position Summary The Site Superintendent will oversee all field operations ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with design specifications and quality standards. This role involves coordinating subcontractors, managing site personnel, and working closely with engineering, safety, workplace and quality teams to deliver complex underground infrastructure, including tunnelling and station construction.
Reports to: Construction Manager The Site Superintendent Key Responsibilities Are Site Management & Supervision Plan, direct and oversee daily construction activities on-site.
Supervise subcontractors, tradespeople, laborers, and suppliers.
Ensure proper implementation of construction methods and sequences.
Manage logistics, material deliveries, and equipment use.
Safety & Compliance Enforce strict compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Conduct daily safety briefings and site inspections.
Plan, address and mitigate potential hazards immediately.
Quality Assurance Ensure all work complies with specifications, drawings, and industry standards.
Coordinate inspections and tests with quality control teams and third-party inspectors.
Track and document deficiencies and oversee corrections.
Scheduling & Coordination Maintain and update look-ahead schedules and daily work plans.
Coordinate closely with site engineers to avoid conflicts and delays.
Monitor progress against project timelines and report variances.
Documentation & Reporting Maintain daily logs of activities, manpower, and incidents.
Submit regular progress reports to the Construction Manager.
Plan and monitor materials, tools, and equipment.
